Session Rates

I am an out-of-network provider and require payment at the time of your session via Venmo or Zelle. The fee for a 45-minute session is $275. The fee for a 60-minute session is $340.

Night Owl Therapy sessions are designed for working professionals who may not be able to commit to lunchtime or early evening hours. The fee for a 45-minute session is $400. The fee for a 60-minute session is $500.

Assessments and Letters for Disabilities can be provided for those already working with me. There is generally no need for an additional assessment, and the fee for the letter is $300. For those seeking an assessment only, the process will involve 1-2 sessions, depending on your situation. In both cases, I will provide your letter within 1-2 weeks.

Payment Methods

I accept Venmo and Zelle for payments.

Insurance

Patients who want to bill insurance will be given a receipt at the end of each month to submit to their insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Out-of-network services may be covered in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • Do those benefits include teletherapy? And what is the reimbursement for teletherapy?
  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Privacy Policy

Communications between a client and a psychotherapist are confidential. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client.

However, there are some exceptions required by law to this rule. I am required by law to report to the authorities the following circumstances:

  • If I suspect that an individual may be involved in child abuse or dependent adult/elder abuse.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person.
  • If a client intends to harm themself. The therapist will make every effort to work with the individual to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.

Cancellations

Most people choose to schedule a standing appointment on a once or twice weekly basis. If you need to cancel an appointment, 48 hours’ notice is required, or you will be charged the full fee. I understand that some people’s employment situation does not follow a regular schedule. I will be as flexible as possible in rescheduling an appointment.

Please be aware that I cannot provide an insurance statement for a cancelled, missed, or forgotten session; you will be responsible for the full fee.

There is no charge for unavoidable life situations, such as a death in the family, a delayed flight, the flu, or COVID. However, I don’t expect these should be regular occurrences.

If you are late, your appointment will still end at the designated time.

My Absences

I will inform you of any absence, vacation, or illness if it prevents me from giving you my undivided attention. The same is true for any personal matters.

I may occasionally need to reschedule appointments. If we are unable to find a mutual time, there is no charge for the session. If I am running late due to an emergency, I will inform you, and we will have a full session.

Communication Between Sessions

Some therapists are always on call. I am not one of those therapists, unless a crisis presents itself, in which case I will do my best to be available until we can schedule an emergency session. I usually return emails the same day or within 24 hours; it may be longer on weekends. Texting is possible for brief communications regarding scheduling and last-minute delays. I do not discuss clinical issues via text or email.
